Handwritten Tag Instructions
If you already have tags made from another sale or in a different lay out than what's described below, that's fine. Other tags are welcome as long as they have the same consignor # as ours.
-
Use 3x5 white index cards.
-
Consignor number in top left-hand corner of the index card. Your consignor number is giving to you when you register as a Kid Connection member. If you'd like to choose your consignor #, that option is available. If you have a consignor # from another sale I suggest, using the same #. That's because you can use the tags that are already on your items from other sales at this sale. If you don't choose a number one will be randomly assigned to you. Then you will have to re-do your tags with our correct consigner #. Don't make extra work for yourself.
-
Prior to making your tags. Sort clothing items by size & gender then place them on a hanger. This will make the entire process go smoother.
-
Write the size of the item in the top right-hand corner. Put the size that it actually fits (ex. 3-6 months, 4T or 14/16).
-
Price goes in the bottom right-hand corner of card. Prices start at $1.00 with $.50 increments
-
Place an “X” or "ND" near the price if you DO NOT want the item sold at 50% on the last day of the sale (Saturday).
-
Any item that does not have an "X" or "ND" on the tag will be sold on Saturday for half price.
-
If you have BOUTIQUE items, write BOUTIQUE above the descriptions & highlight it. This will help with Drop-Off because Boutique items go on a separate rack from the rest of the clothes. See below
-
Write description in the center of the card. Do not put a generic description (ex. Black Shirt, yours will not be the only Black Shirt in the sale. instead put H&M Black Sleeveless shirt). Use abbreviations to save you some time. NWT New With Tags, NWOT New Without Tags, L'S Long Sleeve, S/S Short Sleeve, 2pc 2 pieces, BLK Black. Tags do fall off from time to time so please give enough information so that the tag & item can be matched together.
-
Using a safety pin attach the tag to the top right-hand side of the item. Hang your clothing items with the opening of the hanger to the left. Should look like a "?".
-
Secure matching shoes along with the tag, either with a large safety pin or zip-tie.
-
Books, puzzle, & game boxes. Use masking tape or blue painters' tape to secure tags. Any other type of tape will rip the books cover & game boxes when tags are removed.
-
ALL items with multiple pieces, especially toys with multiple pieces. Loose, smaller pieces must be placed in a plastic sandwich bag then tape the bag closed & secure bag to the item with tape.
-
Larger items with multiple pieces such as stroller, car seat & base you will make 1 normal tag with description of all 3 pieces & add "1 of 3" on the other 2 items, place a card with only your consigner # and "2 of 3" "3 of 3". Then you will zip-tie all 3 items pieces together. There will be zip-tie at Drop-off if you need them.
-
If you need further assistance, please reach out. Don't struggle in silence. We want this to be a positive money-making experience. We are here to help in any way possible.

***FYI*** Other than the obvious, the major difference between handwritten & barcoded tags is how they show up on your Sellers Report each night. Each night I will post a sellers report listing the items sold & the amount it sold for. On barcoded tags those are scanned into the system. Your report will list the item # along with the description you entered. On handwritten tags, every item shows up a "Non-Inventory Item" & the price it sold for. If you are numbering your items on each tag, with a number then circle it. I can enter that # into the computer. So, if you keep a #'ed list of your items, you can look at it & match the # listed on seller's report to your #'ed inventory list to know exactly what sold. If you have more questions about this let me know.
